The $99 reality
The $99 (or $93, or $63) drain cleaning ads you see across Omaha almost always come with restrictions: residential sewer main only, through an accessible cleanout, no complications. When the job turns out to need a jet, a camera scope, or anything beyond a basic cable pass, the final bill often lands at $400–$800 after upcharges. For a simple job that fits the restrictions, those offers are fine. For a recurring sewer backup, cast iron scale, or a backed-up basement, you'll end up paying for a service that isn't included.

Which company is actually right for your job?
Simple bathroom sink or single toilet
Any of the sub-$100 options is probably fine if the restrictions fit: PlumbRite, Omaha Drain, Lincoln Plumbing & Drain. Our $95/hr with no minimum is competitive for jobs that wrap in under an hour (which these usually do).
Our price: $95/hr, no minimum. Light plumbing on the same visit at the same rate.
Backed-up sewer or recurring clogs
Flat-rate "starting at" shops will cable it, charge, and the clog comes back in six months. You need hydro jetting plus a camera to find out why. We do this as our core service; JTM Plumbing & Drain also runs scheduled jetting work.
Our price: $300/hr jetter, camera included on every job.
Cast iron scale (homes built 1945–1975)
Chain-knocker descaling plus hydro jet flush is a short list of operators in the metro. We run this as a core specialty. Most Omaha drain shops either refer it out or try to jet it alone (which rarely works on hardened scale).
Our price: $1,200–$3,500+ typical by footage. Camera scope included.
Pre-sale sewer scope (buying a house)
Omaha Drain, JTM Plumbing & Drain, and we all offer sewer scoping. Our standalone rate is $250 flat, among the lowest in the metro for a dedicated sewer camera inspection. On-site walk-through with you on the monitor; recording available on request.
Our price: $250 standalone, or included free on any jet/descale job.
Commercial drain cleaning / restaurants / HOAs
JTM Plumbing & Drain, Major Drain, Omaha Drain, and we all do commercial work. The question is whether you want posted hourly pricing (us), hourly + parts (Major), or quote-per-job (JTM, Omaha Drain). We invoice Net-15 with a COI on file, no maintenance-contract upcharge.
Our price: Same $95/$300 posted rates as residential.
24/7 emergency sewer backup
Roto-Rooter has the largest 24/7 marketing presence; JTM Plumbing & Drain and we also answer the phone 24/7. Our after-hours premium is a disclosed flat service-call fee, with the standard $300/hr jet rate. No "emergency rate" markup on the hourly.
Our price: Standard rate + disclosed service-call premium. See /emergency.
A real example
"Everything was super easy, I got a quote over the phone and they were able to come out first thing the next business day. I needed a toilet descaled and wet jetted, I had another company quote me $5,000 but Jeff got it done for $1,200. Highly recommend!"

Before you call anyone
Four questions that reveal the real price in 60 seconds.
- 01
Is the advertised rate the actual rate, or does it change after the tech arrives?
If the answer involves "depends on what they find," ask what else might get added and what each add-on costs.
- 02
What's the hourly rate if the job runs over the flat rate?
Flat-rate shops often have an overage rate buried in the fine print. Get the number.
- 03
Is there a trip, dispatch, or diagnostic fee?
Reputable operators don't charge one. If they do, the quoted price doesn't include it. Add it in your head.
- 04
If the job needs hydro jetting, is a camera scope included, or billed separately?
If separate, ask the standalone scope price. Most Omaha shops bill it as an add-on; we include it on every jet or descale job.
If the answers get vague, that's your answer. Every reputable Omaha drain operator will give you an upfront estimate before any work starts. We do, and the companies in the table above should too. Insist on it.

Common questions
01 Is $99 drain cleaning in Omaha a scam?
Not necessarily a scam, but the $99 (or $93, or $63) advertised rate usually comes with real restrictions. It has to be a residential sewer main, through an accessible cleanout, no complications. For a simple job that fits the restrictions, those offers can be legitimate. The problem is when the job turns out to need a jet, a sewer camera scope, or anything beyond a basic cable pass, and the final bill lands at $400–$800 after upcharges. If your issue is a backed-up sewer, cast iron scale, or a recurring clog, the sub-$100 offers almost never cover what you actually need.
02 How much does drain cleaning really cost in Omaha?
The honest range across the Omaha market as of October 2026: $63–$99 for an advertised basic residential sewer opening (with restrictions); $180–$195 per fixture flat-rate at the hourly or flat-rate shops; $225–$500 for a typical Roto-Rooter visit per third-party estimates; and $95/hr at JetSet with no minimum. For a backed-up sewer that actually needs hydro jetting, expect $300–$600 at JetSet, or $400–$1,500 at the "starting at" flat-rate shops after the real scope is quoted.
03 What's the difference between flat-rate and hourly drain cleaning?
Flat-rate shops publish a per-service price ("mainline drain cleaning $335"). The upside: you know a ballpark before they arrive. The downside: the "starting at" number tends to climb once the tech sees the job, and if the fix takes 15 minutes you still pay the full flat rate. Hourly shops like JetSet charge for actual time on-site. $95/hr for snake work. The upside: a quick job costs less (no minimum means a 20-minute toilet auger costs ~$32). The downside: a complicated job costs more. Both models are legitimate; the question is which fits your job.
04 Why does JetSet charge $95/hr instead of a flat $99?
Three reasons. (1) A real $95/hr with no minimum is often cheaper than a $99 flat rate for a 20-minute toilet auger. (2) It's honest. The price doesn't change based on what the tech "finds" after they arrive. (3) It covers light plumbing too (faucets, disposals, leaks, etc.) at the same rate, so a one-visit combo call doesn't cost two trips.
05 Who's cheapest for drain cleaning in Omaha?
By advertised rate: PlumbRite at $63 (sewer main only, restrictions). By actual-cost-after-upcharges on a typical job: JetSet is usually competitive because the $95/hr rate with no minimum is cheaper than most flat-rate shops once you factor out the "starting at" markup. For a straightforward bathroom sink or single toilet, any of the sub-$100 offers can work if the restrictions fit. For anything more (recurring clog, sewer main, cast iron, grease) the cheap offer usually doesn't cover what the job actually needs.
06 Who's best for hydro jetting in Omaha?
The companies that actually run jetters regularly, not just as an upsell. JetSet jets as a core service at $300/hr, camera included on every job. JTM Plumbing & Drain also runs jetting as a scheduled service. Major Drain and Omaha Drain list hydro jetting on their service menus. Roto-Rooter can quote jetting but it's rarely their lead service. For cast iron descaling specifically (chain-knocker + jet), the list is shorter. JetSet does it as a core specialty.
07 Why would I pick a specialist like JetSet over a full-service plumber?
For drains and hydro jetting, a specialist runs the right tools every day. Jetter always on the truck, camera always in the van, chain-knocker ready for cast iron. Full-service plumbers juggle water heaters, gas lines, remodels, and a hundred other jobs; drain work is one line item on a longer menu. The specialist is usually faster, cheaper on actual cost, and more likely to diagnose the real cause (recurring clog = scale, not just "another clog"). For water heaters, gas lines, in-wall water-line work, or full repipes, call a Master Plumber. Not us.
08 How do I verify a drain cleaning company's real pricing before I call?
Four questions on the phone before you book: (1) Is the advertised rate the actual rate, or does it change after the tech arrives? (2) What's the hourly rate if the job runs over? (3) Is there a trip or dispatch fee? (4) Is a camera scope included if the job needs jetting, or billed separately? If the answers get vague, that's your answer. Insist on the estimate upfront before any work starts (in writing if you want it, ask for a text or email) and every reputable Omaha operator should accommodate.
