Elkhorn is a weird address to work. Most of what people call “Elkhorn” today didn’t exist 25 years ago — it was corn and soybeans west of 168th. The pipe story out here is almost all PVC: late-90s and 2000s subdivisions, trees that are finally old enough to send roots looking for a joint to crack.
Then there’s the slice of actual historic Elkhorn around Main Street and the original townsite, where you’ll still find cast iron under 1950s ranches. Different job, different tool.
The clog pattern we see in the newer subdivisions
Call comes in from Indian Creek, Whitetail Creek, Flagship Commons, Elk Creek Crossing, or one of the newer builds off West Dodge between 180th and 204th. “The main backs up every winter.” Or every 18 months. Or every spring thaw.
That’s roots. 4″ PVC, hub-and-gasket joints, cottonwoods and silver maples putting fine root structures through the seal. A snake cuts a channel through them for a few months. A jetter with a root-cutting nozzle actually clears the inside of the pipe, and the camera we scope with before and after shows you what came out versus what’s left. Buys most Elkhorn houses 2–3 years before the next call.

Elkhorn buyers assume a 10-year-old house is fine. Then the main backs up six months in. A standalone sewer scope at $250 flat gets you a full on-site walk-through of the sewer line, with footage available on request to share with your realtor. For any Elkhorn home 15+ years old, or any home where the previous owner had recurring drain calls, it’s the cheapest insurance you’ll find before closing.
