Omaha is a cast iron city
A huge share of Omaha’s housing stock was built between 1945 and 1975 — Dundee, Benson, Ralston, Field Club, Bemis Park, most of midtown. If the house is older than disco, odds are good there’s cast iron under the slab. And cast iron scales.
We see the same pattern across these neighborhoods every week: recurring backups every 12–18 months, a plumber running a cable through the clog and leaving, and then another backup 12 months later. The cable doesn’t touch the scale. The scale just keeps narrowing the pipe.
What we actually do in Omaha
- Scope first. Push camera in through a cleanout, walk the main, show you the condition on a monitor.
- Plan the job. If it’s scale, we’ll descale with a chain knocker and flush with the jetter. If it’s grease or roots, we jet. If it’s a single hard blockage, we cable.
- Put it in writing. $300/hr, 2-hour minimum, written estimate with expected time on site before we start. No dispatch fee.
- Verify and document. Camera after, video emailed, invoice itemized.
